The Pugh Family met in other years besides 1922 and 1932. Here is a newspaper clipping we found about the Pugh Annual Reunion in 1930. Most of the attendees in 1930 also attended the gathering in 1932. Notable attendees in 1930 were the Pughs from Peoria, Illinois: Alvin Ellis Pugh, youngest son of Ephraim and Maggie Pugh; Mrs. Alvin Pugh was Irma (Highsmith); Betty Pugh was Irma's daughter from a previous relationship (Betty took the Pugh name - she was probably adopted by Alvin); and Billy Pugh (William E.), only child that Alvin and Erma had together. We don't know who won the horseshoe pitching tournament.

Mystery Pugh Family Gathering

This photo has no accompanying information. It was probably taken sometime around 1920, give-or-take several years. Photos like this one can usually be dated by the apparent ages of babies and young children, if their names are known. Also knowing which of the younger adults are married and which are not can be cross-checked to their marriage dates to narrow down the date of the photo. However, we have been able to identify only a few older adults: Elmer, Dorse, Ross and wife Ada, Robert, and Alvin Pugh can be picked out, and Maggie is obvious, sitting in the middle. If this photo was taken after 1919 then Alvin must have come from Illinois with his wife Irma and step-daughter Betty. Robert's wife would be there, along with some of their children. The old man sitting in the middle next to Maggie is a mystery man; Maggie's husband Ephraim had died in 1890, long before this photo was taken, and Maggie did not remarry, so the identity of this man is unknown. Also the old woman sitting on his left can't be identified.
